Job Title: Spray Operator
Reporting to: Senior Spray Operator
Start Date: 1 December 2024

 

Main Duties:

  • Responsible for ensuring that all elements of the storage, transportation and application of pesticides is done in accordance with statutory requirements.
  • To calibrate spraying equipment to ensure that the correct rate is being applied to the crop.
  • To prepare spray equipment for annual NSTS testing.
  • To carry out general maintenance on spray equipment where necessary.
  • Collect CPD points to maintain NRoSo registration.
  • To be responsible for own Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Maintain Muddyboots GLGM records.
  • Maintain the spray filling area, ensuring it is clean and tidy and compliant with all environmental regulations.
  • Responsible for pre-use checks and maintenance of spray equipment and machinery being used.
  • Ensuring that all equipment is appropriately washed out between sprays and cleaned thoroughly at the end of each day.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • UK/EU Driving Licence – desirable
  • Hold a recognised qualification (PA1, PA6, etc) – desirable but full training will be provided.
  • Previous experience with Glasshouse robotic spraying – desirable but full training will be provided.
  • Excellent communication skills – essential
  • Self-motivated, flexible on working hours, including weekends, bank holidays and cover as required.
  • Occasional night spraying will be required.
