Job Title: Procurement Manager
Reporting to: Finance Director
Contract: Permanent
Start: As soon as possible

Main Duties:

  • Indirect Procurement Management – taking ownership of the procurement process for indirect spend categories, ensuing cost efficiencies and supplier performance.
  • Identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements across high-spend categories by analysing spend data and supplier markets.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with key suppliers, negotiating contracts, managing performance and ensuring the best terms for the company.
  • Leading, managing and ensuring compliance with the company Purchasing Policy.
  • Negotiate terms with suppliers, ensuring cost-effectiveness, robust service levels.
  • Identifying procurement risks and work with relevant stakeholders o implement mitigation strategies.
  • Setting up and aligning the procurement processes and creating risk management mitigation.
  • Work closely with internal teams, including finance, operations and project teams to ensure the alignment of procurement strategies with business needs and goals.
  • Ensuring all procurement activities comply with legal requirements and The Summer Berry Company’s commitment to sustainability and ethical sourcing.
  • Land Management – taking ownership of all land management tasks within the business.
  • ESOS Reporting – Liasing with third party consultant to ensure TSBC remain compliant under the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in an indirect procurement role, ideally within the agriculture, FMCG, or manufacturing sectors. Experience managing large-spend categories is essential.
  • Experience in managing multiple projects and driving process improvements across indirect procurement categories.
  • Strong commercial awareness with experience in cost saving initiatives and the ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers.
  • Strong data analysis and reporting skills to track spend, monitor performance, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with a proven track record of securing favourable terms and supplier agreements.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Procurement.
  • CIPS qualification would be desirable.
  • Degree in procurement, supply chain, business administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
