Job Title: Label Operator
Reporting to: Quality Assurance Manager
Contract: Permanent, 48 hours per week

Main Duties:

  • Print and issue labels to packing lines using DataGuard and Vector software, ensuring correct product, date codes, weights, customer specifications and legal compliance
  • Complete daily label production check forms accurately and on time, ensuring all required checks are documented
  • Carry out routine verification checks to ensure label accuracy and prevent mislabelling, rework, customer complaints or product withdrawals
  • Maintain label printing systems and ensure DataGuard and Vector files/templates are up to date and correctly uploaded
  • Manage label stock control including stock counts, monitoring usage, and ensuring adequate stock is available at all times
  • Place weekly label orders in line with production requirements and lead times, escalating risks of shortages in advance
  • Record, report and escalate printer faults or system issues to minimise downtime and maintain production efficiency
  • Produce and submit weekly label waste reports, identifying trends and supporting waste reduction initiatives
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), food safety requirements and site policies

Skills & Qualifications:

  • •Minimum 2 years of experience using label printing software such as DataGuard , Vector or similar.
  • Strong attention to detail and a clear understanding of the importance of label compliance and traceability
  • Competent IT skills with the ability to use production systems and Microsoft packages (Word and Excel)
  • Good level of written and spoken English
  • Organised and methodical approach, able to manage stock control, ordering and documentation accurately
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced production environment
  • Strong communication skills with the confidence to raise concerns, escalate issues and work closely with Production and QA teams
