Job Title: Health & Safety Manager
Location: Odemira, Portugal
Reports to: Managing Director Portugal & Morocco

The Summer Berry Company is looking for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join our team in Portugal.
This is a key role in ensuring a safe and healthy working environment across our operations, while promoting a strong preventive culture and ensuring compliance with legal requirements and internal Health & Safety standards.

Key responsibilities will include:
• Leading and developing our Health & Safety team;
• Supporting the definition and implementation of H&S policies and management systems;
• Organising, developing, coordinating and overseeing occupational risk prevention and protection activities;
• Promoting employee engagement and participation in Health & Safety initiatives;
• Managing external H&S resources and relationships with relevant organisations;
• Organising and monitoring emergency preparedness and response activities;
• Developing and monitoring relevant H&S KPIs;
• Managing the department budget and related CAPEX investments.

We’re looking for someone with:
• Previous experience in a Health & Safety role, ideally with team management responsibilities;
• Health & Safety Technician – Level VI qualification;
• Good English skills;
• CCP – Trainer qualification;
• Strong communication and conflict management skills;
• Ability to work effectively within multicultural and multidisciplinary teams;
• Strong critical thinking and analytical skills;
• A proactive, practical and results-oriented approach.
