Job Title: Packhouse Coordinator
Reporting to: Packhouse Supervisor
Contract: Permanent, based on 48hrs

Main Duties:

  • Support the efficient day to day running of the packhouse to achieve production plans and customer orders.
  • Ensure production lines operate safely, efficiently, and in line with agreed performance targets.
  • Report machinery faults and equipment breakdowns to the Packhouse Supervisor or Manager.
  • Complete all operational checks and documentation accurately and within required timescale.
  • Calculate and monitor labour costs, productivity rates, packing efficiencies.
  • Manage label control procedures, ensuring all labels are checked, verified, and correctly applied.
  • Minimise waste through effective stock control, process management, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Assist with the onboarding and training of new employees.
  • Monitor team performance and productivity against operational and budgetary targets.
  • Provide clear communication and direction to team members during shifts.
  • Maintain accurate production records to ensure full traceability and data integrity.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Good communications and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in fast-paced environment
  • Good numerical skills and attention to details
  • Computer literacy, including data entry and production reporting
  • Flexible approach to working hours, shift patterns and travel between company sites.
  • Previous experience within a packhouse, food production, manufacturing or FMCG environment.
  • Experience in coordinating or leading operational teams.
  • Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Forklift licence or relevant operational qualifications ( where applicable).
